Job Summary
HR MGMT 10, LLC, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations at our headquarters. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a strong command of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in driving financial accuracy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic insights to support the organization's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Operations
- Manage the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile payroll transactions and employee benefits allocations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and perform periodic depreciation calculations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to track financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in the creation of annual budgets and long-term financial projections.
Compliance and Taxation
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including California-specific requirements and multi-state operations.
- Prepare or assist with tax filings, such as sales/use tax and payroll tax, as needed.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
- Optimize the use of accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Strategic Collaboration
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Operations, and Legal, to align financial practices with company objectives.
Mentorship and Leadership
- Support and mentor junior accounting staff, if applicable, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred).
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Experience in multi-state or high-growth industries is preferred (cannabis or employer of record experience is a plus).
Technical Skills
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
