The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator is responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to security incidents across the organization’s network and systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in security monitoring, incident response and customer service. Additionally, this position may evolve into a leadership role, overseeing the development of new security practices and helping shape a new department. The candidate should be a quick learner, able to adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing digital environment.
The SOC will be physically staffed 24 / 7 to ensure we maintain around-the-clock protection for our clients. The SOC Operator will be part of this high-paced, high-responsibility environment. This dynamic, multi-tasking role will involve monitoring alerts, responding to incidents, coordinating field operations and communicating with both internal teams and clients.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus).
- 1-3 years of experience in a SOC environment, IT security, or related field. Prior experience with remote security monitoring is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex security issues, identify patterns and make decisions quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Strong customer service experience (phone calls, texts, emails), helping resolve issues related to security events and incidents.
- Quick learner who can adapt to an ever-changing digital environment with new tools and responsibilities.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, as the role requires long hours of security monitoring.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Valid Texas Driver License
