Students defer graduation and complete their last year of school at the host business, in this case it is Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital. Student Interns participate in classroom employability training as well as three internships at the hospital to build their social, communication and employability skills.

The Project SEARCH Coordinator position provides training and job placement to transition-aged youth with disabilities to develop employability skills, acquire and maintain employment in an inter-agency collaborative environment.

The Project SEARCH Coordinator is the liaison between Vocational Rehabilitation, Cleveland Clinic Management, St. Lucie School District, families, the Business Advisory Committee, and the Student Parent Alumni Group. Communication and disseminating information to all stakeholders is essential to ensure successful outcomes for the student participants in the program.

Project SEARCH is a collaboration between the school district, Cleveland Clinic at Tradition and employU. The Project Search Coordinator works with employU’s onsite team to ensure the students have the support they need to gain valuable skills to move them closer to employment upon graduation. The position involves working with the students, their families, and the hospital management team to ensure any needed accommodations are in place for each student, supported job training is in place, and the Transition Project Search Coordinator works to build natural supports in each department to allow the intern to be as independent as possible during each of their three internships.
