What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Library Assistant position at Emporia Public Library?
The Emporia Public Library is looking for an energetic part-time library assistant. This position will generally be less than 20 hours per week and will require every other weekend (12:30pm-5pm) at minimum. The primary responsibility is greeting and assisting patrons to locate, checkout and return materials. When not assisting patrons, the library assistant will be shelving materials, answering phone calls, assisting with projects and maintaining the appearance of the library.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; a competence in technology; be energetic and promote excellent customer service to all library users. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
