In compliance with FERPA guidelines and University policy, the Curriculum Coordinator manages the official university-wide curriculum and administers compilation and publishing of the university’s course catalog. The Curriculum Coordinator interprets, applies and communicates rules, regulations and procedures, maintains information, and serves as backup to key office processes. The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for checking rules that are institutional, Kansas Board of Regents, and federal that have to be checked to ensure information presented by departments is compliant, and is responsible for the integrity of a major portion of student data.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the official university-wide curriculum, which encompasses all pertinent information regarding new, changed, or deleted course for current as well as historical and research purposes. Design and implement record-keeping applications pertinent to the curriculum. Work with the Business Office to secure appropriate special fees that will then be attached to specific courses at the schedule level. Monitor all graduate and undergraduate university courses to ensure accuracy, as they impact the collection of fees and the production of institutional reports related to curricular offerings, e.g. enrollment, faculty load, and grade reports, and transcripts.
- Become proficient with the university’s student information system and its related modules (current system is Banner).
- Administer the compilation, publication, and distribution of the University Catalog, the Fall, Spring and Summer Class Schedules, and related documents. Manage these projects to ensure that the contents of the publications are accurate and organized clearly so information can be located quickly by current and prospective students, faculty, and staff. Collaborate with and elicit feedback from deans and administrators regarding information to be included in the publications. Enter changes for the class schedules and prepare proofs for the individual departments. Verify information for accuracy and prepare final copy for web publication. Project future operating needs for publications including equipment and supplies. Coordinate the preparation of the Three-Year Academic Calendar. Ensure that the calendar complies with established Board of Regents guidelines. Prepare material for review and approval by the Faculty Senate, university administration, and the Board of Regents, and direct the publication and distribution of the calendar. Attention to detail is highly imortant in this position.
- Communicate effectively with university faculty and administrators regarding academic regulations, policies, and procedures related to the establishment, revisions, and administration of academic programs. Prepare and publicize the Final and Special Examination Schedules.
- Maintain Banner tables and forms that control enrollment status, refund, and registration dates, as part of the start of term processing each semester and summer session. Coordinate with accounts receivable to acquire appropriate refund dates to be entered. Determine and update all enrollment/registration dates to be entered for each part of term in order for the appropriate status (drop, withdraw, etc.) to be available at the appropriate time.
- Enroll students and front counter coverage. Be able to troubleshoot such things as enrollment issues or grade entry issues. Answer calls and questions regarding navigation of the student information system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or High School Diploma and 4 years of directly related experience is required.
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills as well as sound judgement, and the ability to work under pressure with an extremely high degree of accuracy are necessary.
- Graduate level college work is preferred.

Professional experience in higher education is preferred.
COMPENSATION:
- Salary: $19.21 - $20.92 hourly
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
