What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio Visual Lead Technician position at Empower Electric, LLC?
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership:
- Oversee and coordinate AV installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Serve as the lead technician on job sites, delegating tasks and providing technical guidance to junior team members.
- Technical Installation & Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain a wide range of audio-visual equipment—including displays, projectors, sound systems, control systems, and video conferencing equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime during events or installations.
- Program and configure AV systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Quality & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with industry safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand project needs, provide updates, and deliver high-quality customer service.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in AV installation and technical support.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of technicians.
- Technical Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of AV systems and equipment, including familiarity with industry-standard brands (e.g., Crestron, Extron, BiAmp, QSC).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and low-voltage cabling standards.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certifications for Manufacturer specific training (Shure, Biamp, Crestron, QSC etc)
- Other Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work off-hours or weekends when project deadlines require.
