Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Traveling Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team. This position requires 100% travel throughout the State of Texas, providing leadership and clinical support to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities as needed. The Traveling DON will perform various duties as assigned, including but not limited to serving as Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Charge Nurse, Floor Nurse, Survey Readiness, and Survey Response.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve in a variety of nursing leadership and support roles across multiple facilities, stepping in as needed based on facility demands.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness for all assigned facilities.
- Assist in survey response efforts and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Provide hands-on clinical support, including working the floor as a nurse when needed.
- Implement and oversee nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the highest quality of resident care.
- Support and mentor facility nursing staff, ensuring a strong leadership presence in times of transition or crisis.
- Work collaboratively with facility administrators, regional leadership, and clinical teams to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Adapt quickly to different facility environments, working under various leadership structures and resident care models.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing leadership experience in a SNF/LTC setting preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel 100% of the time throughout Texas.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to SNF/LTC operations.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing environments and work in a flexible, “duties as assigned” role.
- Experience with survey readiness, response, and compliance highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while integrating effectively with various teams.
