Position Overview: The Lead Teacher at Empower Learn Create at UC is responsible for planning and implementing a constructivist classroom environment tailored to the developmental needs of preschool children. This role requires a passionate educator who can foster a nurturing and stimulating learning atmosphere where children can explore, create, and grow. ELC at UC has a commitment to teaching with a social emotional lens. The environment supports the teacher's role with a beautiful natural play space and innovative art studio. Our hours of operation are 8-5 Monday through Friday.
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities based on constructivist principles to promote holistic development in preschool children.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and execute learning experiences that align with the center's educational philosophy and goals.
- Assess and monitor children's progress, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and partnerships to support children's learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other relevant documentation as required by regulatory standards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Proven experience working with preschool-age children in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of constructivist teaching approaches and their application in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Understanding of child development principles and effective practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
Nice To Haves
Preferred:
- Master's Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience with curriculum planning and lesson design.
- Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early learning standards.
- Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for inspiring young learners.
