Position Summary
The Dispensing Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of Empower's inventory management, aligning with our values of people, service, quality, and innovation. By overseeing the dispensing of compounded and commercial inventory, this position ensures proper stock levels and the timely management of inventory, supporting the broader goals of patient safety and operational excellence.
In this role, the Dispensing Inventory Coordinator is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, restocking shelves, auditing stock, and performing daily reconciliations. The role involves managing the receipt of medications, coordinating transfers between departments, and ensuring that expired or soon-to-expire medications are properly discarded. The coordinator will also perform biannual, and cycle inventory counts to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, this role requires collaboration across departments to address any inventory-related discrepancies and ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, able to address inventory issues in real time. With a hands-on approach, the Dispensing Inventory Coordinator is essential in maintaining compliance and accuracy, contributing to the seamless operation of the pharmacy, and ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees dispensing compounded and commercial inventory.
- Ensures proper inventory management and adherence to policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and compliance through continuous and thorough inventory monitoring.
- Reviews and responds to inventory related inquiries, restocks shelves, and assists with counts as needed.
- Maintains, audits, and updates inventory sheets and stock rooms.
- Receives and checks in manufactured drugs (and adds into system) from McKesson, Anda, Belco Generics, Etc.
- Completes transfers from Non-sterile and Quality departments, and appropriately adds counts into inventory.
- Completes all pharmacy waste duties such as discarding expired or soon to be expired medications.
- Reconciles medications daily to be removed from the pharmacy stock due to beyond use date or expirations.
- Conducts detailed investigations of all inventory discrepancies.
- Monitors all prescription drug and device recalls and follows the company procedures for handling.
- Scans in all New York hardcopy prescriptions, forwards to Customer Support email, and files properly.
- Coordinates biannual inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure standards and metrics are met.
- Performs return to stock on past-due patient pick-up orders weekly.
- Performs regular cycle counts to ensure inventory is accurate.
- Ensures FIFO inventory procedures are followed at all times.
- Responds to inventory emails requesting patient's print outs be mailed.
- Ensures auto-counters are cleaned and calibrated and the calibrations are logged regularly.
- Navigates multiple internal computer systems.
- Communicates any low stock concerns to Pharmacy Manager or Director of Pharmacy Operations.
- Helps with dispensing technician duties when needed.
- Collaborates with other colleagues / departments to ensure effective and efficient customer service.
- Upholds company expectations and standards across all customer service disciplines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus.
