Position Summary

Quality control is the foundation of trust in pharmaceuticals, and this role ensures every product meets the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and compliance. As the Manager, Quality Control (QC) Analytical - Head of Chemistry, you will lead a world-class team, optimize laboratory performance, and drive a culture of first-time-right execution. At Empower Pharmacy, you will shape the future of quality in compounding pharmaceuticals, helping people live healthier, happier lives while expanding access to affordable medication.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Directs the chemistry laboratory responsible for testing sterile injectables, ensuring rigorous analysis across multiple sample types, including finished products, stability studies, method validation, method transfer, and raw materials, while upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and scientific integrity.
• Designs, onboards, and continuously develops a high-performing laboratory team at all levels, fostering technical expertise, innovation, and a culture of accountability to maintain world-class analytical capabilities in a rapidly evolving pharmaceutical landscape.
• Establishes, drives, and relentlessly challenges key laboratory excellence metrics for safety, quality, service, cost, and efficiency, ensuring operational excellence that delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes and supports the organization’s mission to expand access to affordable, quality medications.
• Continuously assesses and strategically builds internal and external laboratory capacity to meet evolving business needs in the short, medium, and long term, proactively identifying opportunities for expansion, automation, and process improvements to sustain scalability and innovation.
• Embodies, teaches, and enforces a culture of first-time-right execution, instilling a mindset of precision, continuous improvement, and compliance excellence to uphold the integrity of pharmaceutical products and reinforce trust with regulatory agencies, healthcare providers, and patients.

Experience And Qualifications

• Requires at least 8 years of Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Laboratory Practice, or Good Clinical Practice laboratory experience, with a minimum of four years in a laboratory leadership role, demonstrating expertise in analytical testing, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or an equivalent field, with an advanced degree preferred to enhance technical and strategic leadership capabilities.
• Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), American Society for Quality Certified Pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice Professional (ASQ CPGP), Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification, and Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) are preferred for this role.
