Position Summary :

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Senior Sales Associate to expand our reach in the multifamily market through the sale of building automation systems. This NYC-based role involves building client relationships, driving sales, and ensuring successful project delivery within the automation space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controls, a solid understanding of mechanical equipment, and a desire to apply technical expertise in a sales capacity. Familiarity with building automation, HVAC systems, and compliance requirements is essential. The position offers a competitive base salary plus commission based on sales performance.

Primary Responsibilities :

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and engage prospective clients in the multifamily sector, presenting Empowered Buildings’ automation solutions that meet both operational and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, helping clients leverage automation to achieve energy efficiency and compliance goals.
  • Act as the primary resource for clients on building automation, offering insights specific to Local Law 87 and 97.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Craft and execute a sales strategy to penetrate the multifamily market, aligning solutions with client needs in building automation and controls.
  • Conduct presentations and lead discussions to communicate the value of Empowered Buildings’ automation systems.
  • Monitor sales metrics, adjusting tactics as needed to consistently meet or exceed targets.
  • Project Coordination & Technical Oversight

  • Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to ensure that automation solutions are effectively implemented and meet compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the client’s advocate throughout the project lifecycle, overseeing timelines and providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Market Development & Industry Knowledge

  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards, compliance regulations, and trends in building automation to provide clients with informed recommendations.
  • Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base and establish connections with potential partners.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of building controls and automation systems, as well as mechanical equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Strong sales and relationship management experience within energy services or technical sales roles.
  • General knowledge of NYC building energy laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to establish trust with clients.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years of sales experience in building automation, controls, or related technical fields.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proven success in sales and a track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with multifamily building compliance requirements and energy solutions.
  • Location :

    Position reports to Empowered Buildings’ Manhattan office in Midtown, with up to 50% travel and on-site client visits within NYC as needed.

    Benefits & Compensation :

    Earn a competitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $175,000 per year, depending on experience, plus unlimited commission potential tied directly to your sales success . With no cap on earnings, your drive and performance determine your ultimate income, offering the opportunity for substantial growth and financial rewards.
