Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Building Repositioning. This position will help to fulfil the long-range strategic plan to expand the organization’s presence and market share in the expanding building repositioning and conversion sector, incorporating best practices from the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This position will also work with key members from individual business units, both in NYC and other cities nationally, to assist in the development and pursuit of opportunities within the market sector.

This position will help to fulfil the long-range strategic plan to expand the organization’s presence and market share in the expanding building repositioning and conversion sector, incorporating best practices from the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This position will also work with key members from individual business units, both in NYC and other cities nationally, to assist in the development and pursuit of opportunities within the market sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with SVP of Building Repositioning to build the business within the building repositioning and conversion sector through direct client communication, business development outreach, and participation in industry events.
- Assist clients in the “front end” analysis of determining the viability of repositioning an asset, through capital investments to upgrade an existing building or convert to a new use (such as office to residential).
- Identify sources for leads, key owners, developers, consultants, and industry experts in order to prioritize efforts in securing work.
- Expand opportunities with key existing clients and diversify client base through relationship building and strategic pursuits that align with sector growth priorities.
- Monitor local laws and regulations around zoning, tax abatement, energy codes and industry developments to evolve new approaches in the repositioning and conversion sector, in order to be the industry leader in the sector.
- Collaborate with Marketing Communications to support ongoing public relations (PR) campaign to promote new business.
- College degree in related field of study required.
- 5 years’ experience in the architecture and/or real estate development experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, both internally to the organization and externally to clients, consultants, and industry partners.
- Direct experience working through unique building repositioning challenges as a developer, architect, or construction manager, with knowledge of the design requirements of a complex project.
- Understands the market requirements and challenges to conduct a successful building repositioning or conversion effort.
- Competent in real estate development and construction operations.
- Strong planning and organizing orientation. Thinks ahead, monitors progress, delivers on goals.
- Demonstrates ability to gather, relate, and compare data from different sources, ensures data is reliable, complete and accurate.
- Analytic skills to identify trends, dependencies, and opportunities within daily workflow.
- Desired salary range is $120-145k depending on years of experience
Salary : $120,000 - $145,000
