TITLE : Bachelor's-Level Counselor, QMHA
LOCATION : Portland, OR
TERM / STATUS : Full-time Employee / FTE

- Must meet the Oregon state guidelines for QMHA.
- Experience with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
- If in recovery, must be able to document continuous abstinence under independent living conditions or recovery housing for the immediate past two years.
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, client-centered, and trauma-informed integrated services.
- Collect information regarding clients' history through a combination of interviewing, records review, and consultation; after obtaining written consent.
- Conduct and document substance use disorder & mental health assessments, including mental status exam, ASAM level of care, DSM diagnosis, and clinical formulation.
- Understanding of how medication support can be useful in the recovery process.
- Develop a strengths-based treatment plan and collaborative problem-solving with clients.
- Participate in direct treatment of clients by providing individual and group counseling.
- Assess, triage, and respond to mental health and substance abuse crises in the most effective, efficient, and safe manner possible.
- Participate in evaluating clients for risk of harm and initiate Directors Custody transport holds when appropriate.
- Utilize Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed treatment modalities to identify stages of change and develop corresponding stage-wise treatment strategies.
- Maintain client records as required by State, Federal, local, and program standards and funding requirements.
