What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Part Time position at Empowering Minds Resour?
EMRC is currently seeking a MD licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who will provide psychiatric services to clients.
Job Duties:
• Performs comprehensive client assessment
• Orders, obtains, and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Establishes medical diagnoses based on history, assessment, and diagnostic findings.
• Designs, orders and documents appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of health information and diagnostic results.
• Initiates protocols/clinical pathways and evaluates the plan of care ensuring timely intervention.
• Collaborates with primary care providers regarding admission, discharge, and transfer decisions.
• Accurately complete documentation of services in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
• Effectively provide quality chronic, preventive, acute and outreach services based on established standards of care and evidence bases guidelines
• Effectively provide patient centered, trauma informed care
• Considers the holistic needs of patients and orchestrates resources (i.e. pain service, palliative care)
• Works with primary care providers to achieve service specific outcome targets for key metrics including clinical outcomes, level of service, cost of care and patient satisfaction.
• Participates in performance improvement activities aimed at improving clinical outcomes and minimizing variation.
• Actively participate on an integrated, multidisciplinary team to develop and implement an integrated treatment plan, within the context of an individual or family’s unique social needs, as well as contribute to interdisciplinary case conferences on an ongoing basis
• Demonstrate appropriate skills for obtaining and evaluating up-to-date information from scientific and practice literature and other resources to assist in quality care of patients, broaden skill set and for professional growth
• Communicate in a timely, clear, compelling and concise manner
• Set clear, meaningful and attainable goals and expectations and monitor progress towards meeting those outcomes
• Demonstrate efficiency, organization and good judgment in the use of one’s time and the time of others
Requirements
• Master of Science Degree with completion of a primary care Nurse Practitioner or Doctorate program.
• Registered and currently recorded with the appropriate board: either the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or MD Board of Physician’s.
• DEA and CDS eligible
• CPR required
• ACLS/BCLS as required
• Experience in Addiction Psychiatry desirable but not required
