EMR is seeking a Transportation Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, a keen ability to analyze data, and a commitment to ensuring compliance in all transportation operations. This role demands excellent communication, both verbal and written, and the ability to manage diverse teams and personalities. This role will be worked 100% in the office in Camden, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and manage driver reporting, including driver recovery, PNLs, and hours tracking.
Analyze shipment data to improve efficiency and ensure cost recovery, utilizing advanced Excel functions.
Oversee daily dispatch activities, ensuring shipments are on track and compliant with client guidelines.
Develop and enforce customized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the transportation department.
Track and manage asset and personnel compliance data such as registrations, permits, and licenses.
Use transportation software systems to facilitate shipments, manage routing, and ensure compliance.
Respond promptly to client requests, inquiries, and any transportation-related issues.
Ensure all activities follow DOT laws and regulations, maintaining a focus on compliance.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to resolve transportation challenges and provide solutions.
Collaborate effectively with different personalities and departments to achieve smooth and efficient operations.
Assist with miscellaneous projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets.
In-depth knowledge of DOT laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
Highly organized and compliance-oriented, ensuring that all transportation operations follow legal and internal standards.
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team, while managing interactions with a variety of personalities.
Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
1-2 years of transportation logistics experience required.
Experience in the scrap metal recycling industry is a plus, but not necessary.
Additional Information:
This position is based at our Camden, New Jersey office. You will need to be comfortable working in a traditional office environment, and some lifting of light weights may be required. Flexibility with working hours, including the possibility of evening or weekend shifts, is essential for this role.
