What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microbiology Technical Manager position at EMSL Analytical?
EMSL is currently seeking a Microbiology Technical Manager in Cinnaminson, NJ. This role will support the laboratory manager in providing technical support in a diverse microbiology laboratory servicing clients in many industries.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Support the Laboratory Manager in providing technical support in a diverse microbiology laboratory servicing clients in many industries.
Candidate must have a working knowledge of environmental microbiology, food microbiology, and water microbiology.
Knowledge of classical and advanced methods for microbial and bioaerosol analysis.
Experience in the identification of unknown bacteria, fungi, and pathogens.
The successful candidate must be familiar with daily activities in the laboratory in a fast paced environment.
The candidate will support implementation of the QA / QC Program and Standard Operating Procedures within the laboratory.
Able to maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed along with outside vendors.
Ensure QA / QC practices are followed in the laboratory per company policies and internal Quality Management System.
Interact with a diverse client base on technical issues as well as internally with our sales team.
Support a staff of technicians and analysts of varying levels.
Support maintaining accreditations and certifications held by the laboratory, interacting with client or outside auditors.
Adding additional test methods to the lab as dictated by client needs.
The successful candidate will be hands-on and in the laboratory with the staff.
Requirements :
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in mycology / microbiology / bacteriology, Graduate degree is a plus.
Have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant analytical experience.
Applicant must be able to enumerate, identify and confirm a wide variety of bacteria and fungi.
Experience with air samples, surface samples, food testing, bacteriology, and mycology is desirable.
Previous commercial lab experience and be proficient in common lab procedures.
Candidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Experience using Laboratory Information Managements Systems (LIMS).
Good Computer Skills both in Typing, MS Office, and Excel.
Able to work with a diverse team.
Must be able to work well under pressure and meet short deadlines.
Must be able to work some weekends as needed to meet client expectations.
Available Shift :
Monday to Friday 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
