What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics and Planning Intern position at EMT International?
EMT International, a leading provider of digital finishing solutions, is seeking a Logistics and Planning Intern to support inbound and outbound shipments of finished capital equipment as well as inbound materials to support manufacturing operations. This position will work with internal cross-functional teams to create and maintain production schedules to best meet customer delivery requirements to replacement parts and assemblies.
Logistics and Planning Intern Responsibilities:
- Coordinates transportation for inbound/outbound shipments to include materials to and from suppliers and subcontractors as well as shipments of finished product to customer.
- Tracking and analysis of quantitative/qualitative costs and service levels to support decision making process.
- Monitor factory confirmations and shipments. Tracks in-transit shipments to ensure data integrity.
- Complete appropriate documentation for shipping, both international and domestic.
- Audit freight invoices prior to authorizing payment.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Resolve cargo claim incidents.
- Analyze capacity in the downstream operations and create rules for adjusting milestone dates while minimizing the impact of customer delivery dates.
- Create and release spare part jobs into the ERP system upon release from sales and engineering.
- Review and complete change orders to production jobs.
- Monitor the amount of materials released to production.
Logistics and Planning Intern Qualifications:
- Computer skills, including proficiency in software including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Experience with ERP system (Epicor) is preferred.
- Experience with capital equipment preferred.
