Workforce Planning Manager (Internal Title- Annotation Team Manager)
Data annotation is an essential component in training artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms and our annotation team is the most critical component of our entire company. The Annotation Team Manager is responsible for the overall success of the annotation team. In this role, you will manage multiple Annotation Supervisors, who the Data Annotators report directly to. One of the main responsibilities of the Team Manager is managing the staffing, resourcing and workforce planning of 100 data annotators on multiple simultaneous projects. Joining our team means playing an integral role in the future of government AI/ML capabilities.
Responsibilities
Project Staffing & Workforce Management:
- Collaborate with program managers and project leads to ensure timely assignment and deployment of over 100 Data Annotators to multiple simultaneous projects
- Ensure the right talent is allocated to projects based on skills, experience, clearance level and availability
- Develop and maintain skills and experience database
- Develop scheduling process to ensure clear communication of assigned projects to Data Annotation Supervisors, Data Annotators, Campaign Managers and Project Managers
- Monitor resource utilization to forecast staffing needs for future projects and operational requirements, collaborating with senior leadership on long-term planning
- Provide insight on scheduling tools, software or data base needed to effectively operate workforce planning and project scheduling.
Performance Management:
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Leads and the Quality Delivery team on ensuring each Data Annotator is set up for success, meeting performance requirements and following Enabled Intelligence company policies, including our culture code
- Work with the Data Annotation Supervisors on developing performance remediation plans for their Data Annotators, including allocating resources to support team members who are struggling
- Oversee Annual Review process for all Data Annotators
- Pull in Human Resources to assist with performance or employee relations matters
- Collaborate with Human Resources and other department leadership to identify areas for process improvement and recommend strategies to increase workforce effectiveness
People Management:
- Direct supervision of 4-5 Annotation Team Supervisors who will each have about 20 Data Annotators reporting to them.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Team Supervisors
- Provide guidance, support and mentorship to Team Supervisors on people management
- Insure all Team Supervisors are providing their Data Annotators with the support needed to be successful in their jobs
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years experience in workforce planning, resource management, project staffing or a related role
- Minimum of 3 years of people management experience
- Ability to manage a team with different communication, learning and working styles within a people focused culture
- Strong understanding of resource allocation, capacity forecast planning, and project management
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and allocate resources efficiently in a high-demand environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency in workforce planning tools and software
- Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance
- Ability to work onsite at the Enabled Intelligence office located in Falls Church, VA Monday-Friday during normal business hours with occasional travel to St. Louis.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in managing staffing, workforce management or resource management for government contracts
- Previous experience working with people who are neurodivergent
- Previous experience working with early career professionals
- Active Secret or TS Clearance
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Background Check & Security Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to background investigation. Applicants must be eligible to receive a US security clearance at the secret level or higher.
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
