Description:
The Materials Coordinator plays a vital role in supply chain management by forecasting requirements for raw materials and other resources to meet operational needs. This position involves analyzing data, performing cost-benefit analyses, coordinating requisitions, and managing inventory to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with materials, production, and engineering teams, both domestically and internationally, to meet customer needs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Identify and target areas for cost reduction to enhance overall efficiency.
- Manage inventory accuracy while focusing on process improvements.
- Analyze the root causes of inventory issues and develop programs and procedures to eliminate them.
- Assist in developing a formal supplier evaluation procedure, including essential metrics for on-time delivery, accuracy of fulfillment, quality of materials, and pricing comparisons.
- Oversee distribution capabilities, quality processes, and corrective action procedures.
- Contribute to the development of a reporting and tracking system with mechanisms for monthly consolidations of the value of materials returned and credits issued.
- Stay current with industry trends and seek opportunities to improve repair and return management practices by benchmarking top-level companies.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- 4-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company.
- Experience with international shipping and dealing with international requirements for invoices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, with some experience in Oracle SAP.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the patience to work effectively with others.
