What You Will Do :
- Provides oversight, coaching, advice, technical expertise and training on safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, construction and operational work methods
- Act as a first responder to safety incidents and gather / evaluate accident data
- Conduct root cause analysis of safety incidents and recommend preventative actions
- Identify potential safety risks and implement corrective measures
- Perform safety inspections and monitor and evaluate work practices to ensure compliance with all OSHA, regulatory and company safety policies and programs
- Maintain awareness of governmental regulations and policies that may impact company operations
- Test, research and recommend new tools, systems and equipment, and ensures compliance with technical specifications
- Develop, implement, and conduct safety, ergonomics and industrial hygiene training and presentations
- May administer public safety programs for internal and external partners such as first responders, contractors and schools
- Assists in the development of Accident Prevention Manuals, and technical training programs and materials
- Provide expert advice and solutions to peers, customers and co-workers
- Work closely with managers, supervisors, safety committees and other colleagues to develop risk reduction plans and supports other safety initiatives
- Investigate third party safety incidents, often working closely with the claims department and regulators
- Identify, evaluate, and control chemical exposures in the workplace, and perform other industrial hygiene related activities such as coordinating hearing conversation, respirator and medical surveillance programs

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to) :
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to : understand, remember and apply oral and / or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate / explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
