Pricing Analyst

Job Summary

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining competitiveness in the market. This role conducts pricing analyses, evaluates customer and competitor data, and supports the Sales and Finance teams in making informed pricing decisions. The Pricing Analyst will ensure consistency in pricing across products and customers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the pricing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze cost structures, market conditions, and customer data to recommend optimal pricing models and strategies.
• Develop pricing models and tools to support pricing decisions and margin analysis.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management to review and update pricing strategies based on product performance, costs, and competitive intelligence.
• Monitor pricing performance and report on key metrics including profit margins, price variance, and revenue impact.
• Prepare quotes and pricing proposals for key accounts and complex orders.
• Maintain accurate pricing databases, systems, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Conduct competitor price analysis and benchmark pricing strategies across market segments.
• Support contract pricing reviews and ensure alignment with agreed terms.
• Identify pricing anomalies and suggest corrective actions.
• Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting related to pricing impact.
  
  

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a pricing, finance, or business analytics role, preferably in manufacturing or transportation.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pricing software/tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain pricing strategies to cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in cost modeling and understanding of cost-plus and value-based pricing strategies.

The salary range reflected on the job positing is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time.

Pay: $95,000 - $105,000 per year.
