As a Sales Associate, the ideal candidate is outgoing with high energy that thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate must possess strong written and organizational skills and perform well under pressure.
- Help with the development stages of products - including design and trends.
- Work closely with the Art department/design team to give direction on design-making sure they are meeting all deadlines.
- Meet with buyers during sales meetings and take notes on all comments they are giving.
- Maintain an accurate record of all styles/orders organized and track shipping as well.
- Comment on all samples the factory is sending making sure all styles coordinate and tell a story.
- Must have a good sense of details/colors and good communication skills to comment to the factory on all changes needed.
- Help with setting up customer quote sheets/Purchase order detail sheets needed to place orders.
- Work with customers on all revisions needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in product development, focusing on design and trend analysis.
- Collaborate with the art department to ensure timely design implementation.
- Facilitate buyer meetings, documenting feedback and comments.
- Manage style/order records and track shipping logistics.
- Evaluate sample coordination and provide feedback to the factory.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and effective communication skills when interacting with the factory.
- Support the setup of customer quote sheets and purchase order detail sheets for ordering purposes.
- Cultivate relationships with customers through revision processes.
Required Competencies
- Previous experience working with TJX, Ross, or other discounted retailers is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in wholesale sales or related industry experience.
- Comfortable making phone sales and possessing strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in using Vlookup and Pivot tables.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and highly organized.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, or equivalent, with wholesale imports or related experience; or an Associate's degree with 3 years of wholesale imports or related experience; or 5 years of sales experience.
