As the Grounds Crew Manager at Water Safari Resort, your main responsibilities include overseeing the appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance of the resort’s property, campsites, lawns, and other areas. You’ll lead and manage the grounds crew team, assign tasks, ensure successful completion, and maintain the overall quality of the park grounds. This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, extensive walking and standing, and frequent guest interaction
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the cleanliness and upkeep of the resort grounds, including the Campground, Hotel, and Calypso’s Cove.
- Adhere to safety and emergency procedures guidelines.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 35 pounds.
- Safely operate company vehicles, including golf carts.
- Coordinate landscaping, lawn care, and gardening activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain an attractive overall appearance.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
- Monitor outdoor furniture, signage, and amenities.
- Address safety hazards promptly.
- Assist in planning and executing special events.
- Implement sustainable practices for landscaping and ground maintenance.
- The position is salaried with flexibility in hours based on the resort’s business needs (AM and PM shifts).
- You’ll work across various areas, including the Campground, Inn, Calypso’s Cove, and Waterpark.
- Knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, and campgrounds is essential.
- Experience with different types of vehicles, including heavy equipment and plowing, is valuable.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and ability in carpentry, maintenance, mechanics, etc. is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- A desire to provide exceptional guest service and excellent organizational skills are important.
- Ability to work well under pressure with a variety of people.
- Must be able to multi-task, show attention to detail, think creatively, and troubleshoot effectively.
- A cheerful and positive attitude for guest service and team member relations is necessary.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to safely operate and follow company policy when operating golf carts and machinery.
