Senior Snowflake DBA
Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake DBA to provide technical leadership and operational support for a Snowflake environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, database management, and SQL, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration. This hybrid role requires on-site presence in Hartford, CT.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administration, performance tuning, and optimization of Snowflake environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and address user requests.
- Manage and fulfill ServiceNow tasks efficiently.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Prioritize tasks and manage projects in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure security best practices and role-based access control are implemented.
- Support integration of Snowflake with various data sources and BI tools.
- Perform other database administration duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, SQL, and performance optimization.
- Expertise in key Snowflake features such as Cloning, Data Sharing, Secure Views, caching, and Warehouse scaling.
- Hands-on experience with data loading/unloading processes in Snowflake.
- Strong background in relational databases and SQL development.
- Experience implementing security controls and access management in Snowflake.
- Familiarity with BI tools and data integration methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize system performance.
