Role Description
The Senior Installation Manager/PM ensures that all projects are completed to the client’s expectations. This includes staying within budget and on schedule. The Senior Installation Manager will have regular interaction with salespeople, designers, coordination, clients, project management team, installation staff, warehouse staff & sub-contractors. Strong communication, organizational skills, problem solving and follow through are necessary for success in this role.
In addition to Project Management responsibilities, the Senior Installation Manager/PM will be responsible for assigning Installers to projects, procuring additional PM services as needed, departmental profitability and the training and development of processes to ensure customer satisfaction both with internal co-workers and external customers.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Work with other PM's and management of Installers.
- Utilize customer input to objectively analyze, interpret, translate, and communicate appropriate action
- Document scope of work in clear manner and verify it is communicated to the client and Installers.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Direct the project schedule for an on-time completion.
- Coordinate pre-installation meeting with internal team members and/or customers and other trades.
- Visit site and determine site readiness. If site is not ready, determine alternative options or recommendations.
- Complete field work such as measurement verification and execution of final walk-through.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and work with client & installers for final project signoff & closeout
- Monitor and track change orders and punch items in internal system.
- Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all the stakeholders.
- Ensure project time is recorded accurately within our internal systems.
- Develop relationships with vendors and trades that have an influence on completion dates
- Demonstrate knowledge in the proper application and specification of furniture manufacturers. Lead project audits
- Compute project costs by analyzing install labor, material, warehousing and PM time requirements for projects
- Conduct regular team meeting with Install team, Project Managers, and Director of Operations
- Monitor project load and distribute new projects to team
- Develop project management processes, efficiencies, and procedures for improvements and train team accordingly.
- Ensure quality work and adherence to company standards and procedures
- Assist in budget creation for Project Management and Installation
- Plan vacation/holiday coverage
- Recruit and train new Project Managers and Installers
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or valid work experience
- 5 years’ experience in Project Management
- Experience managing/supervising teams
- Space Planning knowledge and building code requirements
- Knowledge of multiple furniture product lines, installations, applications, and labor pricing
- Computer Skills - Working knowledge of MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Hedberg, Matrix Timekeeping & ProCore a plus.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
