Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager. The primary purpose of Assistant Housekeeping Manager is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility and as may be directed by the Environmental Services Manager and Director of Resident Support Services to ensure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize labor management systems in place to effectively schedule to business demands and for tracking of employee time and attendance.
- Inspect equipment to determine repair, maintenance, cleanliness, safety and replacements. Coordinate repairs with maintenance department or outside vendor.
- Monitor all supply/equipment used in daily operations of the department. Ensure staff is using appropriately to decrease shortage.
- Assure staff understanding of MDS, bloodborne pathogens, importance of PPE, infection control and safty procedures. Prepare staff and increase frequency and cleaning efforts in the event of influenza or other infectious outbreaks as directed by upper management referring to CDC.
- Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies, conduct monthly inventories and prepare department requisition forms for purchasing. Select equipment, chemicals and supplies needed, by evaluating performance, testing products/equipment and estimating cost savings.
- Manage linen inventory of rollaway beds and guestroom supplies. Replenish and reorder as needed. Monitor guestroom and rollaway bed reservations daily to assure on time and satisfactorily deliver and turn around. Communicate status to the front desk as needed.
- Responsible for cleaning aspect of apartment turnover program. Coordinate move out/move in cleaning project of resident homes. Prepare housekeeping new move ins package information. Assure timely and up to expectations completion of apartment homes' cleaning upon turnover to Marketing department.
- Coordinate cleaning and staffing needs prior and post events and maintain effective communication with other departments.
- Conduct daily rounds and inspections of common areas, meeting rooms, dining venues, offices, clinic and resident apartments to ensure work and services provided are prioritized up to standards and staff responds promptly when needed.
- Monitor frequency of cleaning cancellations, resident's behavior and physical changes as reported by housekeeping staff and follow up and collaborate with Life Services Department to offer needed services to residents.
- Plan, schedule and create work orders for floor care projects and extra housekeeping services requested by residents and assign timely.
- Assist in coordinating trash removal and recycling with Disposal Company.
- Supervise inspection program of apartment homes and areas. Responsible for preparing, investigating and follow up of employee accident reports.
- Handle residents, guests and employee complaints professionally and communicate outcome as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations in regards to residents, community department information and/or associate issues/concerns, disciplinary actions reports.
- Participate in all meetings, in-services and committees as designated by management.
- Plan and develop work schedules for housekeepers, floor care workers and lead houskeeper.
- Responsible for conducting department orientations and trainings for all new and existing employees.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years leadership position in healthcare environmental services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills.
- Excellent PC skills - Microsoft Office
- Must be able to interface with people at all levels and with residents in a positive and professional manner.
- Demonstrate an understanding of all emergency fire and disaster procedures for the facility.
