What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Encore Village of Schaumburg?
Encore Village is currently hiring for a full time and part time Barista in our Dining Department.
Job Duties Include:
- Stock the coffee station with appropriate par levels of all supplies and complete necessary inventory paperwork.
- Maintain full knowledge of coffee, food and tea beverage offerings, including seasonal specials and recipes.
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Report to work on time and in proper uniform.
- Take customer orders accurately and answer questions regarding menu items.
- Engage with regular customers by remembering their names and preferences.
- Prepare a variety of coffee-based drinks according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Operate and maintain coffee-making equipment.
- Operate the POS system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, seating areas, and preparation surfaces.
- Clean coffee equipment and tools regularly in accordance with food and safety and sanitation procedures.
- Clear and sanitize tables and seating areas as needed.
- Attend daily pre-shift meetings to review the day's activities, menu updates, and any promotions.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure smooth operations.
- Report any equipment or maintenance issues to manager immediately.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hot equipment and liquids.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by manager to support daily operations.
Experience and Education:
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Any related customer service oriented experience may be considered.
- High school or GED preferred.
- Current Illinois Basset certification preferred.
Other Qualifications:
- Full understainding of sanitation, food borne illness and cross-contamination policies and procedures
- Full understanding of cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
- Awareness of right-to-know issues
- Full understanding and use of H.A.C.C.P. protocols
- Full understanding of proper small wares handling
- Full understanding of residents' rights
- Full understanding of departmental policies & procedures
- Training in CPR and Heimlich maneuver
