Overview
The Vice President, Technical Operations based in HDQ offices in Minneapolis, MN provides executive leadership, oversight, and management of the technical operations department of the airline which includes line/hangar maintenance; quality; engineering; maintenance, repair, overhaul facilities (MRO); technical procurement; and supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight to the airline’s maintenance operations, quality, supply chain, technical services, and maintenance long and short-term planning and strategy.
- The workforce includes approximately 280 salaried and 750 hourly maintenance and stores employees located at 11 maintenance bases across the Midwest and Southeast corridor.
- Serves as a member of the executive leadership team (Flight Ops, Technical Ops, Inflight Operations, Human Resources, Administration) to ensure that the Endeavor employees, safety, and operation are aligned to support our mainline customer Delta to meet the flying requirements allocated.
- Provide leadership in the planning, organizing, and directing departmental activities to achieve assigned goals, performance metrics and budget.
- Establish vision and direction on Tech Ops strategy that supports the airlines annual objectives and long-term goals. Continuously leads the efforts of cultivating a strong culture of safety across the organization.
- Responsible for effective internal communication for all Tech Ops employees. Ensures collaboration among all maintenance and engineering departments and supporting airline goals.
- Oversee technical operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Responsible for outsourced heavy maintenance provider performance, cost controls, oversight, and adherence to scheduled workflow in accordance with agreed upon contracts and associated Airworthiness agreements.
- Work in concert with 14 CFR Part 119 Director of Maintenance to ensure effective communications and relationships with FAA regarding technical operations matters.
- Works cooperatively and effectively with others to remove barriers and make decisions thatenhance organizational effectiveness. Ensures the airline has measurable maintenance metrics and reliability improvement initiatives for the fleet.

Qualifications
- 10 years aviation technical operations work experience which can be in operations and/or engineering roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field preferred.
- A&P license preferred.
- Exceptional senior level business knowledge required with sold understanding of financial models, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Effective executive presence and communication skills internally and externally operation personnel and other business departments.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Proven experience in creating and leading successful teams.
- Practical experience and knowledge addressing aircraft technical issues, working with OEMs and suppliers to understand issues, develop and implement effective solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance and regulations.
- Understanding of aircraft structures, engines and systems, and the maintenance thereof.
- Extensive experience in aircraft damage assessment, repairs and return to service processes.
- Demonstrated experience with refining and implementing effective maintenance processes; and selecting and mentoring staff to create a highly successful organization.
- Ability to travel to maintenance base locations at least 2-3 per month.
