The Drilling Engineer is responsible for the conceptual well design and efforts to ensure that wells are designed and delivered to meet the agreed business objectives with regards to operational risks, drilling optimization, safety, and cost effectiveness. RESPONSIBILITIES Accountable for overall accuracy and content of all well engineering planning (cost estimates, programs, engineering studies, AOI team support), appropriate basis of design, and level of detail in whatever engineering document is provided for the execution of operations. Monitor drilling activity and provide solutions, recommendations or changes, when appropriate. Work with Drilling Superintendent, Consultants and Vendors to solve problems and identify continuous improvement opportunities. Check daily morning reports & work with drilling consultants to make corrections and ensure all data is populated accurately. Review & process invoices with attention to detail. Analyze costs and identify cost savings initiatives. Maintain Drilling Database Metrics along with service provider KPIs. Reports directly to the Drilling Engineering Manager but is expected to work closely with the Drilling Operations Manager, Drilling Consultants and Superintendents. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. One (1) or more years’ experience performing relative essential functions. Excellent communication and presentation skills required along with a high-energy personality. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to be on-call outside of normal business hours.
