Safe Scrum Master
Location: Marysville, OH
Duration: 12 Months
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safe Scrum Master to join our team at Honda. You will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile practices and driving continuous improvement within our development teams. As a Safe Scrum Master, you will be responsible for guiding teams in the effective use of Scrum and Safe frameworks, fostering collaboration, removing impediments, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Safe Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, guiding them in the effective use of Scrum and Safe principles and practices.
- Facilitate Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) and Safe events (PI Planning, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt).
- Coach teams on self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress.
- Work with Product Owners to refine and maintain the product backlog.
- Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency across teams.
- Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support the adoption and implementation of Safe across the organization.
- Contribute to the improvement of Agile processes and practices within the organization.
- Track and report team metrics to provide visibility into progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate ART sync meetings as needed.
- Work with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to support Program Increment (PI) execution.
- Ensure adherence to Honda's development standards and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Safe Scrum Master (SSM) or Certified Safe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a Safe environment.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Safe.
- Experience facilitating Scrum and Safe events.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in the automotive industry.
- Experience with other Safe certifications (e.g., RTE, Safe Product Owner/Product Manager).
- Experience with Agile scaling frameworks other than Safe.
- Knowledge of Honda's development processes and standards.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
