Overview:
- We are seeking a technically skilled person that can help to document and design school and commercial bus products and options based on predetermined mechanical characteristics. Responsible for performance requirements, weights, and dimensional limits, determining the nature and working relationship of the various components of design.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the arrangement of mechanical details and preparing initial design layouts. • Follow up and assist in the preparation of final layout and working drawings
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, and preferably in an automotive related industry. • Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis), and with statistical techniques and data analysis. • Must have excellent communication skills with ability to interface directly with hourly employees as well as management level of employee concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates. • Must possess a high energy level with a strong work ethic. • Good pc skills with knowledge of excel, word and outlook. • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, AAS preferred • Two (2) years experience in the specialty vehicle or truck chassis manufacturing field. • Experience working with CAD, Solidworks and/ or Autocad and MS Office Suite.
