Job Title: Trauma Clinician
Classification: Full-time and salaried, exempt under FLSA
Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in social work, Counseling or Counseling Psychology. License or limited license required (LLMSW or LMSW), LMSW, LPC, LLMSW, LLPC. Ongoing supervision and consultation may be available as resources allow.
Preferred: experience working with survivors of domestic or sexual violence and individual and group counseling with children and adults.
Expected Hours of Work: Flexible scheduling between the hours of 7am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, to meet the needs of clients; 40 hours per week
Work Location: Lansing, hybrid schedule available upon completion of 90-day probationary period
Supervisor: Program Director
Pay Range: Starting $55,000 Annually (commensurate based on experience and licensure level)
Summary of Functions
EVE, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides healing and supportive services to survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. The Trauma Clinician plans and implements individual and group counseling or support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault/abuse survivors in Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton County. Assures that plans and counseling or support goals are developed to meet the needs of referred individuals. Functions as a part of the advocacy department team. May supervise student interns in provision of services, depending on licensure level. Reports to the Program Director.
Characteristic Duties
- Provide individual and group counseling and support to residential and non-residential victims of domestic and sexual violence
- Plan, coordinate facilitation and facilitate/co-facilitate support groups and peer support groups
- Working with the Program Director, conducts program assessment and develop program components to address needs of victims utilizing EVE’s resources
- Assist child and adult victims with access to other services provided by EVE and within the community
- Assists survivors with completing Michigan Crime Victims Compensation applications
- Role model positive, non-violent behavior for children and parents, and staff
- Role model agency philosophy of empowerment
- Demonstrate compassion through non-judgmental words and actions in all interactions with clients and staff
- Participate or cause appropriate staff to participate in internal and external meetings as requested to advocate on behalf of domestic violence
- Maintain records and statistical data as required; assure that all documentation and statistical information is completed in accordance with agency policy and within established timelines
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and/or your professional licensure, whichever is more stringent
- Follow up and track referrals to ensure quality of care according to the individual client’s needs
- Conduct intake sessions with new clients and complete documentation
- Attend community and professional meetings to address system change opportunities
- Regular coverage of Crisis Line during normal business hours, when necessary
- All other duties as assigned
Trauma Clinician Requirements
- Ability to perform duties outlined in position description
- Knowledge of Intimate Partner Violence dynamics and trauma responses
- Sensitivity to and knowledge of the common obstacles survivor’s and their children face
- Experience with crisis counseling techniques
- Experience with data collection and reporting
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Awareness and experience using an intersectional lens with a focus on multiculturalism, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Demonstrate cultural competency with diverse populations and ability to become culturally competent with new populations as encountered
- Organize and prioritize responsibilities
- Work Independently
- Written and oral skills are of professional quality
- Use computer for report writing, data collection, and to hold telehealth sessions
Pass a criminal background check
Possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License
