1.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with operational personnel in the region to give support and technical assistance for the implementation and administration of the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) program. This position is reports directly to the West Texas Manager - HSE.
1.1 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Travel to job sites and facilities to audit HSE processes and ensure compliance with company requirements as well as State, Federal, and regulatory requirements. Coach employees on best practices, rules, and regulations when necessary.
· Respond to significant incidents as deemed necessary by Regional and Corporate Management teams. May be required to transport injured personnel to seek medical care and attend medical visits with injured workers to assist in the management of claims, including follow-up visits.
· Ensure that all injuries, equipment damage events, vehicle accidents, near hits, and environmental impacts are reported and captured in the Incident Portal within 24 hours of the event, or as soon as reasonably possible. Responsible for reporting incidents to the District Management Team (DMT) and West Texas Manager - HSE in accordance with the Incident Reporting and Investigation Policy.
· Assist with investigating all incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
· Maintain spare Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for distribution in the field.
· Perform field audits, facility audits, and personnel audits to track compliance with the HSE Management System.
· Audit the Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) process to ensure they are being performed and verify accuracy and completeness.
· Work with the West Texas Manager - HSE to develop HSE goals and assist DMT in following through on these goals.
· Assist the DOT/Fleet Manager with safety-related inspections and investigations.
· Participate in daily safety meetings.
· Attend contractor safety meetings when possible.
· Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the West Texas Manager - HSE.
1.2 EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· 2-year degree, 4-year degree, and/or certifications preferred.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in HSE specific job functions preferred.
1.3 SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Strong knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations/requirements. OSHA, EPA, DEP, TRRC, etc.
· Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
· Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to all levels of the organization.
· Attention to detail in analyses, deliverables, and communications.
· Working knowledge and skills in Windows based computer systems. Must demonstrate competency in business software packages such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
· Must possess flexibility and the capacity to handle a wide range of situations and personalities.
· Detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines. Ability to offer creative solutions and resourceful problem-solving skills a must.
· The employee must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Must be able to travel as needed.
2.0 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
· Sitting, bending, standing, walking, talking, and typing 8 – 10 hours per day.
· Pass the required drug test and vehicle driving background.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to hear and communicate without hindrance.
· The employee must be adaptable to the unique working conditions that consist of long and irregular hours and changes in locations of work assignments. This position requires working in an office setting most of the time with occasional site visits where the conditions consist of wet, cold, hot and/or humid conditions at well sites, working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, potential of fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals where proper PPE must be donned.
3.0 OTHERS
· Reports to the West Texas Manager – HSE.
· Advisor to EnerCorp’s DMT on HSE related matters.
