What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Representative position at Energy Capital Credit Union?
To assist members and potential members with their financial needs using Premier Service Integrity Service and Member Advantage techniques and performing a variety of duties in support of branch operations including, but not limited to, opening new accounts, renting and granting access to safe deposit boxes, processing member transactions, assisting members with lending needs and responding to member needs for information and assistance with their credit union business. Is responsible for maintaining compliance with all required regulations and policies, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Receives and processes financial transactions, including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals and loan payments. Sells negotiable instruments. Balances cash drawer and makes settlement of branch activities. Based on other branch assignments, may be responsible for balancing such items as branch vault and negotiable items.
- Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answering questions about products and services and resolving problems that are within their authority levels. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to Senior or Supervisor possessing the necessary authority level. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services to members. Documents cross sales in CRM pipeline. Manages own CRM pipeline regularly.
- Assists members with entire loan process. Works with members to evaluate their loan needs; prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy; loads loan request to be reviewed for decision; explores alternatives for members if loan is denied or another product that would be more beneficial. Loads loan request to be referred for decisions, may review documents for completeness and accuracy as well as funding ability.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties including serving as 'back up' greeter, typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
- Serves as primary safe deposit box clerk: renting boxes to members, issuing safe deposit box keys to members, admitting members to safe deposit vault, filing safe deposit records, such as signature cards, rental contract, and access slips to vault.
Desired candidate will

- Must be able to accurately and efficiently count money and make change.
- have a high school diploma or GED
- have a satisfactory credit history
- have basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- have good communication skills
- be willing to provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members and ECCU employees.
- be willing to maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and work environment
- be willing to maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness
- Bilingual a plus
