Job Description:
Energy Diagnostics is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Residential Energy Rater. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the energy efficiency of newly constructed homes throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Based in Virginia, you will work closely with project managers, builders, and contractors to evaluate energy performance and ensure compliance with energy codes and standards during various stages of construction.
As a Residential Energy Rater, you will conduct detailed onsite inspections, perform blower door and duct leakage testing, and use specialized software to analyze energy usage. Your expertise will help builders achieve their energy savings and sustainability goals while promoting better building practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite energy efficiency testing and inspections at newly constructed single-family homes throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Perform energy modeling and analysis to assess home performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with builders, contractors, and project managers to implement energy efficiency strategies and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local and national energy codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of energy assessment findings.
- Provide technical guidance to project stakeholders on energy efficiency best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and advancements in residential energy efficiency.
- Travel to job sites within the Mid-Atlantic region as needed; driving is required for this role.
