Every week our team visits hundreds of jobsites across Maryland, Virginia, DC, and Delaware in order to verify compliance with above-code building certification programs including: ENERGY STAR for Homes, Zero Energy Ready Homes, LEED for Homes, Passive House (PHIUS), and others.

We are looking to immediately hire one person for a full-time entry level position as a Field Energy Rater / Green Verifier who will work at jobsites in the Western Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive to 1-3 construction sites in MD/VA every day within 1 hour of your home.
- Perform field testing and verification services (i.e., blower door testing, duct leakage testing, air flow testing, insulation verification, and collect site condition photos).
- Carry test equipment between vehicle and building to be tested.
- Complete documentation of site verification results. Communicate with onsite construction managers and contractors the results of your testing and next steps.
Qualifications - Ideal Candidates will have:
- Enthusiastic and optimistic demeanor
- A passion for sustainability, sustainable building, or construction quality improvement.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information verbally and in written form
- At least 2 years of construction-related experience
- Previous experience with sustainability, building science, and or construction quality improvement.
- An interest in continuous learning, personal development.
- Capable of using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Physically fit and able to carry 50lbs of equipment 20 yards unassisted.
- Comfortable working outside on construction sites in all weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Highly Desirable but Not Required -> Professionally credentialed in one or more of the following areas: HERS Rater, BPI Rater, ENERGY STAR for Homes, LEED for Homes Green Verifier, National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Green Verifier, Building Commissioning training, HVAC Commissioning, or similar.
