The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and work well within a close-knit, dynamic team of bright, driven energy consulting professionals. It is the company’s preference that this be an in-office position where the individual will be in the Houston or Dallas office, along with the firm’s Operations & Analytics Team and one of the Principal/Founding Partners; however, the company will consider a remote arrangement for the right candidate.

 

Position Overview:

This person will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Energy Edge Consulting through their origination efforts with C&I corporate buyers. This position is responsible for managing the entire sales process, from identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to overseeing client delivery and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in energy markets, a proven track record in sales and client relationship management, and the ability to develop a sales strategy that aligns with client needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Origination & Business Development

  • Generate and qualify new business leads through multiple methods including leveraging existing contacts, networking within industry trade associations, attendance at industry conferences, networking via LinkedIn and other similar platforms, and other avenues.
  • Develop new business opportunities within the C&I corporate sector for Energy Edge’s core service offerings including:

§ Traditional energy procurement and risk management

§ Renewable energy feasibility studies, RFPs for PPAs, and PPA negotiations

§ Demand response participation

§ Advanced modeling analytics for forward price evolution

  • Leverage existing relationships as well build new relationships with key decision-makers at potential and existing client organizations.
  • Maintain established relationships through in-person client meetings and entertainment opportunities.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for new service offerings.


2. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Drive the sales process from initial contact through contract signing and beyond.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets by leveraging by identifying client specific needs, developing a sales strategy to showcase how Energy Edge can meet those needs, maintaining Energy Edge’s current 95% client renewal rate and working to identify additional services that may be of value to existing clients.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise within Energy Edge to assist with the overall sales process.
  • Propose new service offerings that can add value to all Energy Edge clients.


3. Client Advisory & Delivery Management

  • Oversee the strategic delivery of client advisory services, ensuring all client deliverables, milestones and expectations are achieved.
  • Leverage Energy Edge’s Operations & Analytics team to assist with the day-to-day client obligations.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of client engagements, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continuous value delivery.


4. Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to refine and implement the company’s strategic vision.
  • Represent Energy Edge Consulting at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy markets, with direct experience in sales and origination.
  • Proven track record of success in business development and client relationship management within the C&I sector.
  • Strong understanding of energy procurement, risk management, and sustainability strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically with a strong focus on results.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward achieving goals.
