Laboratory Technician

A Laboratory Technician is needed for an employer in Blanding, UTDEPARTMENT : Chemistry LaboratoryREPORTS TO : Chief ChemistEXEMPT / NON-EXEMPT : NON-EXEMPTThe purpose of this position is to assist with the sampling, processing, analysis, and reporting of incoming unknown samples, mill process samples, and final product samples within the White Mesa Mill process. Energy Fuels is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability / vets.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES : Good communication skills Work well on their own or within a team setting Showing good work ethic and initiative Have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize the tasks that need to be done Lead a team if required Advanced understanding of chemical, radiation, and laboratory safety practices. Show good laboratory hygiene and cleaning techniques. Display proficiency in the Laboratory Technician Level B skills and procedures Build basic methods, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot all instrumentation utilized in the laboratory. Perform the necessary analysis and titrations as outlined in the Laboratory Progression Matrix Train junior technicians on said analysis Take the initiative in identifying safety concerns, and follows all Safety and Health guidelines, as well as Laboratory rules for their own safety and the safety of others.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION : High School Diploma or GED Basic math and computer skills As well as some laboratory experiences are a great addition To be considered for this position, the technician must be currently employed at a Laboratory Technician Level B (or equivalent level outside of the White Mesa Mill) Demonstrate the specific skills outlined in the Laboratory Progression Matrix.PHYSICAL / SENSORY DEMANDS : Must be able to stand for eight hours a day May involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing 30 or more pounds Must be able to climb stairs as needed A respirator will need to be used in many areas of this position The candidate must be clean shaven to be able to wear the full-face respirator.Wage and schedule will be negotiated with employer.
