Position: Senior Project Manager (construction)

Job Location: Washington D.C.

Salary: 160K to 180K anual (negociable)

Job Summary

As a member of our Program Management team, the Senior Project Manager will oversee our clients’ Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects within the utilities sector, specifically focusing on water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems. Primary responsibilities are to manage and oversee the planning, engineering design, and construction of CIP projects on behalf of the Owner; coordinating with the Engineer-of-Record (EOR), Construction Contractor, Owner, and stakeholders or with EOR, CMAR, and Owner to resolve any impediments to timely and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities Of Senior Construction Manager.

  • Lead and manage multiple CIP projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry standards
  • Manage both traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Delivery methods, guiding projects from conception through construction, commissioning, and warranty periods with the support of specialized team members
  • Serve as the primary liaison among the Engineer-of-Record (EOR), construction contractors, project owners, and various stakeholders
  • Proactively identify risks and help mitigate them to ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, regularly updating stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, and clients
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards throughout all project phases
  • Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders
  • Mentor and support junior project management staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

Requirements

  • Experience as a senior project manager in construction

Experience: 10 years’ experience with a minimum plant treatment capacity of 30 MGD and minimum project size of $50M. Conventional wastewater and reclaimed water plants; engineering design, permitting, project manager, design-building, progressive design building, or CMAR.

  • Technical Skills

Proficiency in Project Management Information Systems, BlueBeam or Adobe Pro PDF Review Software, MS Office Suite, Engineering Design best practices, and industry regulations.

  • Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
  • Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
  • Soft skills

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills; ability to foster relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
