We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Coordinator to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time contract position with the opportunity for growth and development within our global organization.
Role Overview
- Analyze and forecast materials and equipment needs for efficient supply chain management
- Collaborate with internal teams and international partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials
- Identify areas for cost reduction and implement process improvements
- Manage inventory accuracy and develop programs to eliminate root causes of inventory issues
- Assist in developing supplier evaluation procedures and manage distribution capabilities
- Implement quality processes and corrective action procedures
- Develop reporting and tracking systems for monthly consolidations of materials returned and credits issued
- Stay current on industry best practices and benchmark top companies for continuous improvement
- Experience in equipment and materials delivery, material processing equipment, and materials planning
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles
- Optional: Experience in forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and requisition coordination
- Proficient in inventory management and process improvement techniques
- Ability to analyze root causes of inventory issues and develop effective solutions
- Familiarity with quality processes and corrective action procedures
- Experience in distribution management and reporting/tracking systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- 4-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company
- Experience with international shipping and dealing with international requirements for invoices
- Full-time contract position with potential for extension
- Work onsite in our Houston office
