- An Internship is an excellent way to get to know EnergySolutions from the inside and immerse you in the nuclear decommissioning and nuclear waste industries. It can also help you decide what career is right for you. You’ll have full day-to-day involvement in actual projects, selected to match your interests and abilities.
- You’ll join a project team and work alongside EnergySolutions employees who are all professionals in their fields. Their perspectives will contribute to your understanding of our business, its demands and rewards. Our interns are also grouped as a class and will have a group project that they will complete and present at the end of the summer. The intern class will start and finish their internships in our Charlotte, NC office so travel is expected and covered by the company.
- Most of our internships are engineering/technical internships but we also have a few opportunities in accounting/finance, human resources, marketing and other disciplines. We have opportunities at manufacturing/processing facilities, industrial construction sites and corporate offices in locations across the US.
- A supervisor will support you directly and you’ll undertake regular assignments throughout your internship to ensure you get the most from the experience.
- Must be a rising sophomore in a four year accredited college or university and working towards a degree in the field of the internship
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift, carry, push up to 25 pounds; handle, grip, and reach above or below shoulder
- Ability to sit, walk and bend/stoop
- Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
- Ability to read small text, documents and procedures
- Basic math skills
- Ability to see close and distance; basic colors/shades
- Ability to work inside an office and outside
- Ability to work on slippery/uneven walking surfaces
- Ability to work alone and with others
- Ability to drive a vehicle; perform under deadline pressure
- Ability to perform highly repetitive motions
Education
- Must be a high school graduate
- None required
- Office experience preferred
