Role Description
Energywell is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. This is primarily a work from home position, offering flexibility while maintaining responsibilities for various accounting duties across multiple businesses and entities. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting and assist in maintaining the integrity of financial data. This role requires and experienced accountant with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with proficiency in accounting software NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Reconciliations: Reconcile all balance sheet and analyze all Income Statement accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliation of accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger to ensure accurate recording of transactions, including reconciliation of customer billings and collections for various businesses.
- Journal Entries: Enter and monitor monthly journal entries for all entities to support financial statement preparation and reporting.
- Financial Records Maintenance: Maintain and update all financial records, ensuring data integrity and proper organization for easy access.
- Audit Support: Assist with external audit requests by preparing the required documentation and supporting schedules.
- Tax Entries: Assist in preparing various tax returns and related journal entries and reconciliations, such as sales tax, gross receipts tax, property and income tax.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Intercompany and Consolidation experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and provide solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time efficiently.
- Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to stay on task in a home office setting.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
