Job Purpose

The Marketing Manager for the Americas is a key member of the Motive Power Global (MPG) Marketing Team. The role focuses on developing and implementing marketing strategies to support and expand our Motive Power line of business. The position will collaborate and interact with global teams across departments including Sales, Service, IT, and Engineering to develop marketing campaigns, messaging, collateral and programs to introduce new products, support existing products and to increase market share within both markets and on a global level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Execution :   Implement and execute brand strategies for North and South America markets, including product positioning, audience targeting, and developing comprehensive marketing plans with specific objectives across various channels and segments.
  • Leadership & Teamwork :   Manage direct report(s) to achieve team goals, as required. Participate as a member of cross-functional teams.
  • Tactical Planning :   Assist in the development of key strategic and tactical plans to increase sales, market share and profits in selected markets and segments.
  • Program Management :   Lead marketing and product-related promotional programs from concept to execution, leveraging both internal and external resources to meet objectives.
  • Campaign Management : Develop marketing campaigns with the end goal of generating qualified leads to increase sales. Campaigns can be delivered in a variety of means including e-blasts, social media, print, PR, traditional mail, etc. Communicate with senior management about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as brainstorming fresh marketing strategies.
  • Outsourcing & Vendor Management :   Work in partnership with our outsourced vendors to develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public facing communications, including print, digital, web, social media and video assets and other marketing collateral.
  • Events & Tradeshows :   Plan and implement tradeshows with support of the global marketing team, outsourced agencies and local sales and service personnel. This position will also be required to staff key Americas tradeshows, as necessary.
  • CRM Database Management :   Support the infrastructure development of our customer database via Salesforce to ensure the correct segmentation, conversion reporting and marketing actions.
  • Sales and Service Support :   Provide product support for the sales and service organization by developing and implementing training materials and tools to help maximize effectiveness. Participate in customer meetings and visits as necessary to support business growth and to ensure understanding of customer and market needs.
  • Collateral Development :   Development and / or revision of collateral material and sales tools associated with all major product lines across multiple media formats including but not limited to print, digital, web based, video and animated formats.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis :   Ensure current products are meeting customer needs and requirements by monitoring and analyzing market and competitive information. Develop special reports related to market data, as required. Perform customer surveys as required.
  • Planning and Budgeting :   Assist with the development of long term and annual marketing plans. Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Work with the Global Director of Marketing to prepare and comply with departmental budgets.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Work Experience :   Minimum of 5 years marketing experience, preferably in industrial or material handling sectors. Proven ability of collaborating with international teams both in-person and remotely with geographically distributed teams.
  • Education :   Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • Language :   Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Advanced degree in technical or business area of study.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual
  • Digital / IT Literacy :   Excellent software skills across all Microsoft Office applications. Must be comfortable communicating via online platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, etc.  Ability and willingness to learn new tools as needed (SmartSheet, Monday.com, SharePoint etc). Preferable experience with Salesforce CRM, Campaign Automation tools, Digital Asset Management (DAM) tools and other marketing software as required.
  • Content & Copywriting :   Familiarity with content marketing and social media development strategies. Experience in managing social media, marketing campaign production and website development / support is desirable.  Ability to understand audience perspectives and edit or write approachable and intuitive copy for various marketing materials. Proficiency in translating technical information into benefit-driven content that is understood by customers and internal teams.
  • Graphic Design :   Basic knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite) to be able to execute basic changes to marketing materials is desirable.
  • General Job Requirements
