The Accounting Manager's role performs senior-level accounting duties and supports the Accounting and Tax teams with processes, reconciliations, and special projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team in a supportive and team-oriented environment
• Prepare and record various journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Oversee senior-level projects, including gross margin analysis, corporate tax initiatives, payroll tax projects, and workers compensation analysis
• Perform reconciliations for complex payroll tax accounts
• Review and analyze client billing, including large data exports, to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Handle special projects as assigned by management
• Collaborate with other departments to gather transaction information, research and resolve discrepancies, and reconcile items
• Prepare documentation and reports as required
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and principles in accordance with GAAP
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the year-end close process and requirements
- Assist in implementing new procedures to improve the department’s workflow
- Provide backup support to co-workers as needed
- Contribute to the achievement of overall department goals and objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting or a related field is required
- Minimum 7 – 10 years of accounting and/or general ledger experience required
- Minimum of 3 years advanced reconciliation experience with large data sets
- Experience with accounting software; NetSuite is a plus
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is required
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience is a plus
- Prism/HRP experience a plus
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is listed below. However, you should know that the salary range may vary based on regional location, the candidate’s skill, and relevant experience. In addition, some positions may include a form of bonus or other incentive compensation, which would not be included in this salary range.
Annual Salary Range: $95,000.00-$100,000.00
