What You Can Expect
As the IT Infrastructure Manager you will be the driving force behind the core technologies that keep our growing organization running smoothly and securely. Each day, you’ll manage and maintain backend systems including servers, cloud services (Microsoft Azure), network infrastructure, and identity management tools, ensuring the reliability and scalability of all IT operations. You’ll take the lead on infrastructure projects, oversee security technologies like firewalls, and support user onboarding and permissions. This role also includes occasional hands-on support and close collaboration with a small, agile team—making it ideal for a solutions-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You’ll be a key player in building a high-performing IT function from the ground up.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and client systems (Windows and Mac)
Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of Fortinet firewalls and other network security technologies to protect critical assets and data
Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of LAN/WAN network infrastructure in support of evolving business needs
Lead and support infrastructure-related IT projects—including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities—ensuring seamless system integration with minimal disruption to operations
Monitor system performance, proactively troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize uptime and reliability
Administer and enhance cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, aligning with best practices in cost management, security, and scalability
Manage virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, ensuring high availability and resource efficiency
Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues across the IT and business teams, contributing to initiatives beyond core infrastructure when needed, and supporting a culture of teamwork and shared ownership
This position will sit in Oakland, CA and report to the IT Manager.
What You’ll Bring
A minimum of a four (4) year degree with a focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in IT Infrastructure management
Must be knowledgeable of Windows Server, Active Directory, and client systems (Windows and Mac)
Experience with Fortinet firewalls or other network security technologies
Proficiency in networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless
Experience with Microsoft Azure and VMware vSphere
Experience in M&A activities, including IT integration and due diligence

This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Salary : $131,000 - $201,000
