Job Overview: The Benefits and Compensation Specialist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding of the new hires, conducting new hire orientation, benefit and leave of absence administration, compensation plans, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness initiatives.
- Analyze and evaluate benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, unemployment management.
- Serve as a key resource for employees, providing guidance on benefits enrollment, claims, and policy questions.
- Assist with the annual benefits renewal process, working closely with brokers and vendors to secure optimal plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation and benefits regulations, such as FMLA, ACA, and FLSA.
- Provide reporting and analysis on benefits costs, employee participation, and ROI metrics.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Develop and maintain compensation structures that are equitable and aligned with industry standards.
- Conduct market research and salary benchmarking to inform pay scales and benefits packages
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
- Work collaboratively within the Human Resources department and across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Two- five years of human resource experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience managing self-funded insurance plans.
