Mold Setter

Department: Production

Job Position: Mold Setter I

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Authority: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.

Job Competencies/Duties (include, but are not limited to):

· Be able to lift 40 lbs.

· Have at least 6 months experience in mold setting

· Operate forklift.

· Operate overhead crane and A-Frame

· Strong attention to detail

· Well organized and self-motivated

Job Duties:

· Perform mold setup as required by the Production supervisor in a timely manner while abiding by all current safety practices and procedures

· Verify all mold bolts, clamps, water lines, knockouts, air lines, sprue heaters, hot-runner units, end-of-arm-tooling devices, and appropriate nozzles are applied and secure.

· Clean molds/parting lines at the beginning of each shift.

· Help keep machines and plants clean.

· Verify all process parameters are correctly applied to press and auxiliary equipment.

· Remove from the press area all hand tools, hoses, lines & miscellaneous items not required.

· Remove any accumulated grease, oil, water, purge compounds or debris in surrounding area before advising production of press readiness.

· Responsible for placing tools in the correct storage area.

· Help material handler as needed (if there are no tools to set).

· Have all necessary tools to perform job (employee owned, or company-owned)

· Help give press operators breaks as needed.

· Fill out all required mold change paperwork.

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

· Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction.

EOE - Compensation is based on experience
