Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team. In this position, you will record and maintain all financial transactions, perform reconciliation, assist the manager and accountants in preparing financial statements and closing books, running payroll, collecting debts and making payments.
Bookkeeper duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying, reconciling entries and maintaining a balanced general ledger
- Account Payables
- Account Receivables
- Timesheets Administration
- Payroll Processing
- Invoicing
- Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
- Financial Reporting
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
- CPA certification a plus
Experience Required
- Between 5-10 years’ bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
Certification, Skills and Capabilities Preferred
- CPA Certification
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Utilizing financial software such as Quickbooks
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in U.S.
- Experience working for a federal government contractor
- Ability to keep the company confidential information secure
- Attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.03 - $31.25 per hour
