Job Description
Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including mechanical components, assemblies, weldments, and systems.
Solid modeling is required and a background in sheet metal is a plus.
Design custom equipment meeting specific customer and industry requirements
Manage large assemblies consisting of sheet metal, parts, sub-assemblies, hardware, and imported files.
Help to establish better modeling skills, software training, and ways of improvement for other Design Engineers.
Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including floor plans, elevations and any other specifications provided.
Designing, drafting complex parts and assemblies with mechanical design/integration skills
Managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings
Familiar with a PDM Product Management Database
Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics per product per project
Solid 3D-modeling using Siemens SolidEdge for sheet metal
Designed CAD models per customer specifications and order sheet
Worked with Project managers to deliver requested drafts for customer review
Simultaneously worked on multiple projects and project managers, prioritizing deadlines
Product procurement, DXF drawings for a laser cutter and bends, and drafted electrical drawings
Troubleshoot and adapt model files from CAD library to meet customer specifications
Knowledge of GD&T for manufacturing sheet metal
Requirments
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Create assembly drawings and technical documentation for mechanical components.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precision in designs.
- Conduct system design tasks to support various engineering projects.
- Assist in the preparation of technical writing documents related to design processes.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on feedback or changes in project scope.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for process improvements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
