SUMMARY
The Project Manager serves as the focal point for all engineering issues regarding the development for improvement programs to which he/she is assigned. This includes receiving, interpreting and refining customer requirements, coordinating design and process reviews and establishing product and process parameters for the costing and quoting functions. Development programs include, part design, engineering tasks and computer-aided drawing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Interact with customer engineering and design staff to understand and communicate requirements and specifications.
- Oversee and follow up on the progress of parts and processes through the development cycle, reporting and correcting variances to schedule both internally and externally.
- Prepare all appropriate engineering documentation required for internal needs and external expectations.
- Participate with laboratory, quality and other engineering staff in design reviews, failure modes and effects analysis, designed experimentation and testing and capability evaluation to ensure design and process integrity and program coordination.
- Provide cost and quality improvements pursuant to designs and procedures to enhance the company’s competitive position in the market.
- Responsible for continuous improvement and participates in new product design reviews and feasibility evaluations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four-year college degree in engineering discipline; or a minimum of three years working experience in a similar engineering environment, with progressively more responsible tasks; also a thorough knowledge of CAD systems and ability to move from design concept to finished design, including layouts, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ANSI Y14.5M), and detail and tooling drawings.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
